Your Deck, Designed From Scratch
Every property is different. The slope of your yard, the layout of your house, how you use your outdoor space, and what matters most to you. That is where design starts. Not with a template, not with a catalog page, but with a conversation about what you actually need.
CC's Decor has been designing custom decks in Southeastern Wisconsin since 1986. We have seen what works on flat lots, hillside properties, waterfront homes, and everything in between. We bring that experience to every project.
Material Options
The material you choose affects how your deck looks, how long it lasts, and how much maintenance it needs. We work with all of the major options and will help you decide based on your priorities.
- Cedar: Natural beauty, warm tone, naturally resistant to rot and insects. Needs periodic sealing and staining to maintain its appearance.
- Pressure-treated lumber: The most affordable option. Durable and widely available. Requires regular staining and sealing.
- Composite (Trex, TimberTech): Low maintenance, consistent color, no staining required. Higher upfront cost but saves time and money over the life of the deck.
- Tropical hardwoods (Ipe, Cumaru): Extremely dense and durable. Beautiful grain. Premium pricing but unmatched longevity.
The Design Process
We start with a site visit. We measure your property, look at the grade, check the soil conditions, and talk through what you want. From there, we put together a design that accounts for structural requirements, local building codes, and your personal preferences.
For larger or more complex projects, we can provide scaled drawings so you can see exactly what the finished deck will look like before we start building.
Permits and Codes
Decks in most Wisconsin municipalities require a building permit. We handle the entire permit process, including submitting plans to the village or county and scheduling all required inspections. You do not have to make a single phone call.
Design FAQs
There is no charge for the initial design consultation and estimate. For projects that require detailed scaled drawings, there may be a nominal design fee that is credited toward the build if you move forward with us.
Yes. Multi-level decks are one of our specialties. They are a great solution for properties with slopes or grade changes, and they create natural zones for cooking, dining, and lounging.
That is completely normal. We bring material samples to our site visits so you can see and feel the options in person. We will walk you through the pros, cons, and cost differences so you can make an informed decision.
